General Hotel Information
What time is check-in?
Check-in is any time after 3pm on the day of arrival. We also offer an early check-in for an extra fee. Please note this will be depending on availability on the day of arrival.
What time is check-out?
Check-out is any time before 12pm on the day of departure. If you decide to extend your stay and enjoy an extra few hours in our hotel, simply let the front desk team know and they will be happy to assist you. Please note that there is an additional charge after 12pm for late check-out which will depend on the availability on the day.
Does the hotel offer baggage storage?
Yes, we are more than happy to store your luggage at the reception free of charge before check-in or after check-out.
Does the hotel offer free WiFi?
Yes, we’re happy to provide our guests with complimentary WiFi throughout all public areas and bedrooms. Premium WiFi at higher speeds is available for a fee.
Is there a laundry service available?
Yes, we offer a laundry service at an extra charge.
What do I do if I accidentally left some items in the hotel?
You can call or email the hotel with information such as the item in questions, stay dates and room your room number so we can check our lost property for the item in question. If the lost property is found, you can collect the belongs or organise a courier to collect the items.
Are pets permitted in the hotel?
No, unfortunately, we don’t allow pets in the hotel, with the exception for guide dogs and service animals.
Is the hotel reception desk open 24 hours a day?
Yes, our front desk operates on a 24 hours basis.
What is Palacio’s smoking policy?
At Hotel Palacio, we operate a strictly non-smoking policy throughout the entire hotel. A deep cleaning fee will be charged to guests who are found to be in breach of our no smoking policy.
Need a Taxi? [How it works]
Suriname knows largely 3 groups of taxi companies (A: large companies which own their own car’s, B: companies who employ people owning their own car and C: private person just operating on their own)
Depending on your destination and urgency, it is wise to choose the right one.
Let’s start with the most important one: Airport. For your arrival, but especially your departure you should always choose a company who can replace the car or driver very fast in case of an issue. This can be anything from sudden personal emergencies of the driver to a flat tire. This will prevent you from missing your flight. Arrival: We can do this for you. You will need to request your arrival transport pickup, and we will make sure the driver will be waiting for you on your arrival at the airport.
Departure: When leaving the hotel to the airport, your goal is getting there in time. Between 7:00 and 9:00 and 13:00 and 15:00 Traffic Jams are likely to occur. When leaving within these hours, book your pick up at least 4 hours in advance and for regional flights and outside the busy hours, 3 – 3.5 hours is enough.
Have an appointment? When you need to be in time somewhere, please keep these busy hours in mind. we are located in the heart of the city. This leaves us with 2 challenges: 1st is the actual traffic jam, which will cause most likely a delay for the driver to arrive at the hotel. Take more than average time to book your taxi. (30 minutes in advance rather than 10m. Which would be the normal time). Second is that also because of the traffic jam, some drivers just don’t show up. Our staff will always help and assist you where possible, but when booking the taxi, we have the same challenges as anyone else.

What room types does the hotel offer?
Hotel Palacio boasts 22 comfortable rooms in total. Depending on your needs, guests can choose between six different room types, including Double Rooms, Twin Rooms, Triple Rooms and Single Rooms.
Is there an elevator available?
We have stairs leading to our rooms, which are situated on 3 floors above our lobby. We do not have an elevator.
Can I get a baby cot in my room?
Yes, cots are available upon request (subject to availability).
Are the hotel rooms air-conditioned?
Yes, all public areas and rooms in Palacio have air-conditioning available.
Do the bathrooms have a shower?
Yes, all guest rooms have a shower cabin.
What amenities are included in the room?
Our rooms include a Coffee maker or Nespresso machine, mini fridge, complimentary WiFi, hairdryer, bathrooms with shower, tea making facilities, iron and ironing board as well as USB sockets.
